Ace - Alpha Release 1.5
A downloadable game for Windows
Nov. 17, 2019 - I was sick and had a chance to make some quick changes. New settings menu, bug fixes, and early test particle effects were implemented.
----------------------------------
A card game with no turns, frenzied combat, and up to four players! This is a first crack at what mashing up Yu-Gi-Oh! or Magic with Smash Bros. could be like. Form a deck of 20 cards, pick a character color, and jump in alone for some combo testing or with up to three others to cast monsters, spells, and interesting effects.
Currently only for Windows. You can use controllers or a keyboard. Note that GameCube controllers used through a Mayflash adapter will work, but I haven't gotten around to altering the button layout to make sense for them, so you'll have to finagle it a bit.
Please feel free to give me feedback at Shap#4869 on Discord! I'm looking for feedback, as I know that there's a lot to improve (and that there's a lot that I don't know yet that I'll have to improve. Yes, I know that information display in this game is an issue. Let me know how you'd fix it!).
There are many features that I'll try to get to work on during my super busy gap-year. Among them:
-overall visual and auditory improvements
-the namesake of the game, powerful "Ace Cards"
-collecting coins at the end of matches to buy decks which contain new cards
-a few new sets of cards with interesting themes and mechanics
-taunts
-better shaders usage for the player sprites (to add versatility; could have multi-colored sprites)
... and more; it goes on, I have many lists....
